xG Technology: Floating On London AIM

US-based xG Technology have announced that they are to float on London’s AIM stock market.  The company have been developing their key product, called xMax, in stealth mode for the past 6 years.  Initially designed for the mobile VoIP market, xMax technology will work at very low power in unlicensed bands.  xG Technology say that xMax is a mix of two established communication approaches that dramatically improves spectrum utilization.

A range of dual-mode VoIP phones are already in the pipeline to use xMax technology.  As well as being able to hop onto a wireless network, the new phones will come with an Ethernet port so users can plug into a socket an use a wired network to place calls.  xG Technology aim to raise $650 million with their floatation.
