What’s Happening With Satellite VoIP?

IP & Democracy is reflecting on The Rupe’s (Rupert Murdoch) calling DirecTV a “turd bird”. This is a company that ol Rupe has holdings in. What ever a turd bird is, IP&D concludes, the US DBS industry is dying. This might explain why DirecTV recently announced VoIP over satellite offerings. Though I don’t think that’ll help them, as I said before. There are just too many options for VoIP, and most of them are better than satellite, as anyone who has had satellite TV already knows. Now correct me if I’m wrong, but with IPTV and web video stirring up great interest, any remaining satellite TV customers might already be jumping ship to broadband.
