Vonage router gets redesign

Gizmodo reports from CES on a fresh redesign on the Vonage router, which is currently a bland dark gray and black plastic box. As you can see from the image above, this new router is far removed from the current model.

Vonage commissioned Frog Design, an international design consultancy firm, to spice up their boring router. From first looks they have done a thoroughly good job. Color, chrome finish and rounded corners make it much more contemporary while the heads up display makes it easy to view caller ID and other information.

Unfortunately there has been no comment from Vonage on when or even if we’ll ever see this new router go public. I for one would encourage them to make the step, it certainly would help augment their brand as people would be much more inclined to keep this contemporary router on their desktop.
