VoIP.com launches no-commitment plan

VoIP.comVoIP.com have just announced their new no-commitment plan, currently in beta. Traditionally a subscription-based service, the new no-commitment plan allows users to place a free 5 minute call using a web-based interface similar to those provided by Jajah and Rebtel.

Calls made using the Make a Call web-based service can be made from any landline or mobile phone and can connect with any landline or mobile. To gain access to Make a Call users will require a free account with some funds added.

I like these web-based services because of their flexibility. However, it takes more time to setup a call simply because you have to enter your phone number and the telephone number you are calling.

In related news Jajah said that their web-based VoIP service will be compatible with Apple iPhone, which, if true, should mean that VoIP.com’s Make a Call should also work.
