Telecom Courses At Oxford
The University of Oxford is offering a dozen or so telecom courses in five categories, starting in mid-November and going into Feb 2007. Details at Telco 2.0.
Get Your Free Skype MiniCards
This week only, from Moo.com, get a free 10-pack of Skype MiniCards, a sort of business card for handing out to people you meet. Details at Skype. Looks like fun. They also have “moognets” and “flickr” minicards, which can be produce from a flickr photostream. Basically, they take the web and turn it into print, in fun little units.
You’d Think They’d Want The Customers
Thomas Greene writes, in painful detail, is awful experience in trying to get a broadband Internet connection at his new residence, after he moved to Ireland from the USA. I thought cable and telecom companies in North America had awful setup service and hired nasty, rude third-party installers. In Thomas’ case, when he finally found a company that would be a stop gap before getting cable, they didn’t even show up, but just strung him along, like a refrain from a Broadway musical: “tomorrow, tomorrow”.
