VoIP Over Satellite TV Service?

Anyone who has subscribed to TV programming using one of the satellite TV services knows how unreliable it can be during inclement weather. It takes one big storm to knock out your reception for a while. It’s the primary reason I didn’t consider Internet service over satellite. So why then would anyone want to subscribe to VoIP service over satellite? DirecTV seems to think people will, as they’ve launched a partnered trial under the name DirecPath. On the other hand, satellite TV often brings you programming that you cannot get on cable, and since DirecPath will be bundling VoIP with TV programming and high-speed Internet, there just might be a market. Still, I think that of all types of VoIP providers, satellite will be the least successful and cable the most.
