UTStarcom F3000 WiFi SIP VoIP Phone
The UTStarcom F3000 might not work with Skype (thanks to their closed source VoIP codec) but it does use SIP. And what does that mean? Well you aren’t limited to using just Skype. As SIP is an open source standard for IP Telephony you can use the UTStarcom F3000 with any SIP-compliant VoIP provider. Check out this previous post if you are looking for Skype alternatives.
Asides SIP support, the UTStarcom F3000 supports a broad range of standards from G.711, G.729, RTP / RTCP, RFC2833 / inband DTMF and SDP. Adding to this long list (of acronyms), the UTStarcom F3000 also supports WPA, WEP and has 802.11 b and g support. What’s more? It has a bright 1.8″ LCD screen, polyphonic ringtones, 3 hours of talk-time (not the best for heavy business use) and SMS.
If you aren’t a Skype user and opt for an SIP VoIP provider instead, then the UTStarcom F3000 is well worth looking into.
