UAE Might Lift VoIP Ban

Good news for all those in the UAE. Only yesterday we reported that VoIP was banned in Dubai, but now it seems the emirates are having a change of heart.

According to a report from Zawya, the Telecom Regulatory Authority is looking into lifting the ban on VoIP that exists in Dubai and Abu Dhabi imposed by Etisalat.

“Currently, we are studying all the aspects of the ban on VoIP facility. And if we find it is necessary to lift the ban, we’d re-consider our decision”, said TRATRA’s Adnan Al Baher in an interview.
