Thomson EV5203-C Linux-powered VoIP DECT Phone
Just like the USRobotics USR9630, the Thomson EV5203-C is a dual-purpose phone having VoIP and PSTN connectivity. What’s more, you don’t have to plug the EV5203-C into your computer, it just needs to plug into your broadband line or router. You can also plug the base station into your telephone socket and make traditional landline phone calls, charged at your normal rates.
The EV5203-C can handle 2 VoIP calls simultaneously and you can connect up to five of them, with each handset with their own VoIP number. It comes with an embedded Linux OS so the phone can be customized to offer SMS, MMS, ringtones etc.
Unfortunately Thomson plan on making the EV5203-C available through VoIP service providers who will be able to customize the phone to fit in with their subscription plans. All-in-all, not a bad phone, especially with it’s souped-up connectivity.
