Another company is getting in on the Skype phone craze, this time it’s Thompson who are releasing their own cordless Skype phone. Unlike other popular Skype phones, the GE 28300EE2 (long product code) is not a WiFI phone and instead uses DECT. I suppose this does mean that it won’t interfere with any of your wireless networks.
One of the nice features of the phone is the integrated speakerphone, built right into the handset. It has a color LCD screen where you can view Caller ID, your contact list and call history. The GE 28300EE2 can store up to 100 names in the address book, has 120 hours of standby battery life and 10 hours of talk time.
Other handy features include conferencing capabilities with up to 4 simultaneous users, intercom functionality and voice encryption just in case you are holding a call the NSA shouldn’t know about.
The GE 28300EE2 will be priced at $149 and should available in stores some time during Q3. Whether you should buy it or not is up to you. But an extra $100 would get you a Netgear SPH101, which is wireless and does not require any link at all with your PC. If you are looking specifically for a DECT Skype phone, maybe you should look into the Philips VOIP841 as an alternative.

GE has announced its PC-Less Skype Dualphone 28310EE1. It uses the same design blue print as the one used in RTX 3088 Dualphone. I have a review here.
Come take a look.
