Speecho offers VoIP

Another addition to the burgeoning number of social bookmarking sites is Speecho. Yet, it’s a site with a difference. Apart from the usual chatting, blogging, photo sharing, and video uploading, this site gives its members VoIP and that too free of charge. You can chat up a mate who is online either in a public voice chat or a party line session.

Recently Live Journal and Gizmo teamed up to allow users of both services to sync their contacts. Other social networks are bound to follow this trend in the future. In fact, when I think about it, some of these social networks make it very difficult to converse with others. Take Digg for example, a hugely popular site that doesn’t even have a PM system in place. Of course they will have concerns about people spamming such a system to help stories float to the front page, but to me it is elementary to have basic communication features in place. Especially on a social network.
