Skype For Social Calls

If you use any sort of VoIP soft phone (iPhox, Skype or alternatives) or IM clients (Aim Pro, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk), it’s likely that you’ve had at least one experience where someone you don’t know randomly calls you up and starts chatting. This is happening to me more frequently. Well, for those of you actually looking for someone to chat with, Messagr is a new service that social types can use to meet people with similar interests.

The difference here is that all registered members are Skype users. You register yourself and your interests and Skype id. Then you can search for people to chat with based on interests, and if they are available online, a message appears in their profile. Just click-to-call via Skype, and chat away.

An interesting idea for sure, and something that has already been integrated into online dating sites, including Verbdate. Well, not precisely the same way, but similarly.
