Radian SkyTone RST101 Cordless USB VoIP Phone

There seems to be no end to the number of Cordless VoIP phones recently. If you want to go back, we’ve already covered the D-Link DPH-C160S, Shiro SK9151 and many others. The Radian SkyTone RST101 Cordless USB VoIP phone is a fairly run-of-the-mill affair. It has two main components, the phone itself and the base station that connects to your PC via USB.

The phone is actually capable of working with not just Skype but also Google Talk, Net2Phone, Vonage and others, something that many other phones of this type are not capable of. The screen may be monochrome, but it still manages to clearly show your contacts, who’s online, who’s calling etc. and it also has a rather nice blue backlight. Plugging the phone into the base station charges the battery via USB from your PC, Radian say you’ll get a maximum of 100 hours standby and 10 hours of talk time. Whether or not this is accurate remains to be seen.

The SkyTone is available now at stores priced at ~$80. Don’t rush into buying one though, there are plenty to choose from.
