Primus Offers Free VoIP Calls
Primus, a company that original started out in the early 90s (late 80s?) when telecoms were hit by the regulation smackdown. They sold bundled long distance minutes in blocks. I think I may have even used them way back in the mid-90s, when my long-distance bills were $600-800/m. But now, with so much free VoIP calling available, they’ve probably been feeling the pinch.
Whether that’s true or not, they’re now offering free VoIP calling via their Primus Internet Phone soft client, TalkBroadband, which includes up to four hours per week of calls to landlines in sixteen countries, including Australia. Or if you don’t want to go Primus, you could always go with Gizmo Project, which offers free calls to 60 countries. Read more about Gizmo in 10 Skype Alternatives.
