Philips Electronics VoIP Baseband Chips For Cordless Phones
Philips Electronics have announced its VoIP enabled baseband chips for cordless phones. The new VoIP chips from Philips will allow a user to use a cordless VoIP phone, rather than having to make calls with a VoIP phone wired into a computer.
The new baseband chips are a part of the existing Philips PCD8072x family of cordless phone baseband chips, designed to give phone manufacturers a simple and integrated VoIP solution. PCD8072x chips also offers internet call waiting, caller ID with colour displays. The PCD8072x chips are at the heart of the Nexperia 820 cordless phone system, which offers WiFi and Bluetooth.
“With Philips VoIP enabled system solution, we were able to speed development time for our next generation cordless phone. Consumers can now enjoy Internet-based phone services away from their PC, providing them with added features and convenience in a phone that is also easy to use,” stated Ascalade Communications President, CEO and Chairman, Dr. Edmund Ho.
