Nissan Bluebird Sylphy: The New Knight Rider Car?
If you ever saw the show Knight Rider, with Baywatch star David Hasselhoff, you know that H’s character spoke to the car, Kit, and the car would usually do his bidding, with the occasional bit of robotic rebellion. Well, it’s not Kit, but the Nissan Bluebird Sylphy is being equipped with a voice recognition system that uses Bluetooth for the communication. The technology is being developed jointly by Visteon Corp and Parrot. Visteon’s focus is vehicle audio and infotainment systems. Parrot has developed digital signal processing techniques for voice data applications use in mobile phones. [via Telematics Journal]
Of course, if you want to make VoIP phone calls from your own Kit, you might try this retro Skype phone. Though you’ll probably need to install a computer onboard. Once around the park, and then home James. By the way, Knight Rider is coming to the big screen.
