Netgear SPH101 WiFi Skype Phone: Shipping
Following on from yesterday’s question around why it is taking so long for Netgear and Belkin to ship their WiFi Skype phones comes confirmation that the Netgear SPH101 WiFi Skype phone is now shipping in bulk, good news for everyone who had pre-ordered it!
Reports indicate that the SPH101 has been selling very well because it is capable of making Skype calls via a WiFi connection, therefore cutting out the need for a PC. Although priced at $250, the fact that you would no longer be tethered to a PC in order to make a call represents a huge incentive for many Skype users to splash out and buy it.
The bad news, the SPH101 will not be available in Europe or Asia / Pacific until October.

I have had a pre order in at Amazon since June or July. They just sent a note saying estimated shipment is delayed again. This time they say October 15. Is it just me?

Sorry for not getting back sooner. I live and order from sunny Southern California. No phone in sight. Anyone else actually get one?
