Median MX-400M: Jukebox VoIP Phone

The latest gadget out of South Korea is the Median MX-400M, a music player / VoIP phone hybrid. At it’s heart is 1GB / 2GB of flash memory to store music on, right now you can download from a variety of Korean music stores online.

However, it also doubles up as a VoIP phone. Interestingly it doesn’t use Skype (the softphone of choice) and instead uses Miraphone, a choice that is of particular interest considering Skype just made SkypeIn numbers available from PSTN and mobile phones in South Korea. Personally I would rather have a bigger brand softphone on there such as Skype or Gizmo. Another downside of the MX-400M is the fact that it isn’t cordless, it needs to be plugged into your PC to run.
