London City Center WiFi Access
London city center’s “Square Mile” will be getting a brand spanking new WiFi network soon courtesy of The Cloud, who have previously made their intentions of creating WiFi networks in large UK cities well known.
The WiFi network is expected to go live inside the next few months and is intended to improve City workers connectivity. The Cloud are pushing the new service as a vital addition to City businesses, workers and visitors alike who will be able to connect to the network (for a fee) and browse the internet, email and purchase goods online. The new network will give hi-speed wireless internet access to approximately 350,000 workers in the area.
At least the USA isn’t the only country getting municipal WiFi! The issue in the UK will be monetizing such a network in areas with a less dense population, ie. anywhere outsid a major metropolitan area.
