Jordanians Rejoice: TRC Lifts Skype Ban!

Jordan’s Telecommunications Regulatory Commision (TRC) has lifted their block on Skype, just one month after they initially banned Jordanians from using the service due to security concerns.  The TRC believed that Skype was a potential terrorist tool because of it’s built-in encryption.

Dubai banned VoIP last week, but only one day later the UAE Telecom Regulatory Authority said that they were reviewing the ban on VoIP and would lift it if necessary.
