JetNumbers: focusses on local numbers

One of the key benefits I have found with internet telephony is the ability to setup a local USA landline number when located in the UK. I have been using this quite a bit recently since my brother moved to Australia, and it certainly reduces the cost of keeping in touch.

JetNumbers are a new entry into the internet telephony market and their USP seems to be all about local numbers, which isn’t really all that unique at all. Pretty much any VoIP provider, from Skype to Vonage, offers local numbers. But what JetNumbers do is allow you to forward this local number to any landline or mobile phone, which is really handy.

This forwarding feature is also nothing unique, but it is worth mentioning nonetheless. I am a bit concerned at their pricing schemes, $49.99 per month for a forwarding number is quite a bit. Especially when you have yet to factor in all your other calls and addon services.

My other gripe about them has nothing to do with their services as such. It has to do with their website. Have a look for yourself, for a moment I thought I was on the Vonage site!
