IPEVO Trio Skype Phone

Following on from the IPEVO Solo.1 is the IPEVO Trio, a phone that offers SkypeOut and SkypeIn connectivity with a clean minimal interface. The USP for this phone is the two-in-one functionality, it can be used as a handset and speakerphone.

The phone is really designed for flexibility, although it must be connected to a computer via USB in order to connect with Skype. It is nonetheless portable and compact, so it won’t take up very much space on your desktop. However, it doesn’t come with a stand so it will have to simply lie flat on a surface instead of sitting in a cradle.

In can pick up sound from a maximum distance of 1.5m, which combined with integrated echo cancellation provides for quite good sound quality.

If you are in the market for a low-end Skype phone just to see what it is like to use Skype then it is well worth a look, especially at just $70. No word yet on compatibility issues, so Mac users beware. Available in stores from February 07.
