IPEVO Solo.1 Skype Phone

IPEVO have a well-earned reputation for simplicity in design, setting the bar for slick and minimalist functionality among the Skype phone market place.
With the release of the IPEVO Solo.1 they are moving forward with their typical clean design. It has a modern glossy white finish, you may like this or you could be sick of looking at iPod wannabees. Like the Netgear SPH200D, the Solo.1 does not require a direct connection to a computer via USB as with the IPEVO free.1. Instead, it connects to your Ethernet broadband router and routes calls via the internet through Skype.
You get the usual Skype interface that displays who is online, missed calls, voicemail and your remaining credit. It you are planning on buying a new business phone that will reside on your desk then you’ll find the speakerphone useful.
You can pick up the IPEVO Solo.1 from March 07 for approximately $170. While I do like the design and functionality of this phone, I can’t help but think that for $20 more I could get a cordless phone. I also would find it useful if it was dual-mode and could be used as a landline phone. In other words, I would pitch in for a Netgear SPH200D.
However, if the flexibility afforded by a cordless handset is not at the top of your list and you don’t plan on making any costly landline calls then why not give it a go?

Just a quick question, will the solo phone work in Australia?
Would be great if it did …. it may change the design of my office system.
