Google To Add VoIP To Google Talk Client
Reports suggest that Google are planning on integrating a VoIP service into their recently released Google Talk instant messenging client. While these rumours are nothing solid at this stage, it would make sense for Google to get into the VoIP marketplace.
Google have recently been buying up large amounts of dark fibre for unknown purposes. Any move into the VoIP market by Google would be seen as a direct attack on Skype, the current market leader. However, in recent weeks we have seen both Yahoo and Microsft announcing their intention to beef up their instant messenging clients with subscription VoIP services.
