Google Sued For VoIP Elements In Google Talk

Google are being sued by Rates Technology over the VoIP elements in Google Talk. rates Technology uphold that they own 2 patents (awarded to them in 1995 & 2001) which are being infringed on by Google Talk.

Rates Technology are asking for a trial by jury where they will push for the reward of damages including the loss of profits. Rates Technology are historically active in pursuing companies who they believe infringe upon their intellectual property, having previously sued Sharp Electronics and Nortel over other patents belonging to them.
