Free VoIP Software for Windows Mobile Users

Good news for Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Mobile 6 device users as Fringland Ltd. is said to have ported their free mobile VoIP for Windows Mobile allowing users to make free VoIP calls and conduct multiple live chat sessions through programs such as Skype, Google Talk, MSN Messenger and other SIP providers.

According to Fringland, its mobile VoIP client allows Windows Mobile PDAs to run VoIP phones on WiFi hotspots or 3G cellular data services and has a “Presence” functions to indicate contact’s availability in real-time. One might wonder what the catch is, as with all things free. It is predicted that Fringland will follow the Skype model and keep basic VoIP free while charging on premium subscription services as similar to Skypeout. What is worrying though is the fact that since the software is downloaded through SMS messages, users are required to provide their mobile phone number and even as there is a privacy policy put into place, business partners may be provided with contact details for marketing purpose of relevant services or products.
