ERF Wireless enters strategic alliances

ERF Wireless, which offers encrypted wireless network solutions for the banking industry has joined hands with companies such as ShoreTel and 3Com in a strategic partnership to provide secure high-quality voice applications.

In a press release ERF stated it’s intention to enable financial institutions with its VoIPNet solution such that they can increase efficiencies and cut on long-distance telecom communication costs. In other words, VoIPNet will be put to work in call centers operated by the banks to handle customer care.

Clearly there is a huge market for ERF to exploit here, banking and finance in general is a huge sector with much of their customer services outsourced to offshore call centers where they can save money on labor costs.

Fair play to ERF, why not take advantage of the trend to outsource? The only problem is that while they’re VoIPNet system may be secure, you can’t secure corrupt call handlers.
