E-Commerce Click-to-Call VoIP Applications
Peter Csathy continues in his fascinating analyses of the use of video calling by giving several brief example case studies of how SightSpeed’s video-based click-to-call functionality can be used on e-commerce websites to inject a human element to transactions. Examples are online mortgage sites, tutoring - especially for language learning, and even customer support.
Now take that a step further and add remote desktop viewing, such as Unyte offers as a plugin to Skype. I know that Skype is a more mature product than SightSpeed, but I’m thinking that the latter is going to surge forwards once they have an open developer API, and openly welcome developers.
Imagine an Internet where customer support calls are initiated by a “Call Me” button, and a live video call takes place in a web browser, followed by another window that displays the computer desktop of the support person, who would then run through the necessary steps and share that with the caller. You have a formula for customer satisfaction, especially when it comes to technical products. The best part is that SightSpeed’s video click-to-call functionality is free.
Skype and Google both have click-to-call ability, but Google does not have video calling. Skype does have video calling, but not for click-to-call, that I’m aware of.
