Digium release AsteriskNow

AsteriskDigium, the primary developer of the open source Asterisk IP PBX, have announced a new ’software appliance’ called AsteriskNow. The new application has been developed so that users can have an Asterisk PBX installed, configured and running within 30 minutes.

AsteriskNow has been developed off the recently launched 1.4.0 release and features a Digium-designed user interface that includes a new setup wizard to guide users of any skill-set through the installation. The application also comes bundled with all the Linux components needed to build, debug and run Asterisk on a server.

Users can engage in discussion with other AsteriskNow users on the forums at their website where they can find assistance and leave feedback for the developers.

This has been a busy few days for Digium and it’s great to see them push this new application out. It’s exactly the sort of release both Asterisk as a VoIP application and VoIP as a solution need. More of the same please!
