Corega Skype Phone

Fresh out of Japan comes the new Corega Skype phone, which apparently is designed to work perfectly with Skype. Right now it’s only available in Japan, and the product description is also in Japanese. As the Google “translation” is flaky at best, I can only surmise some of the features offered.

• Power over USB.
• Echo cancelling technology built-in.
• Noise reduction technology.
• Talk simultaneously with up to 5 others.
• Create conference calls by connecting to an external speaker.

The down side of this that it isn’t a cordless phone, something that is a pre-requisite for me. When there are so many open wireless networks I see no reason in being attached with a cord to my computer. However, I’m genuinely stoked that more and more companies see the power in VoIP and choose to invest in and release new products.
