Chinese Enterprise VoIP Market Growing
Despite being a Communist country, with less emphasis on profit, China has a lot of businesses and many of them need telecom services. In fact, according to research firm In-Stat, spending on IP PBXes for Chinese enterprises is expected to grow from about US$164M in 2006 to nearly $480M in 2010, an increase of almost 200% - or nearly triple the current market. The overal VoIP market in China, according to Juniper Research, is predicted to be about US$5.5B in 2007. About a quarter of this amount is expected to be spent on IP PBXes, with China spending a sizeable chunk. This will result in a decrease in sales of traditional PBXes by over 30% per year. China is expected to have a billion phone users by 2010.
