Bluetooth Hat? Come On!
I’m not a skier myself (just a former skateboarder with a ripped knee), but some of my best friends have been skiers/ snowboarders. (I even know an 80-year old former school principal that skis.) And they know that concentration is key while doing downhilll or other types of skiing. Or even snowboarding. So when Garrett Smith mentioned this Bluetooth-enabled knit cap from Motorola, it made me chuckle. Moto’s really pushing it with the Bluetooth products. While there may be a market for the outrageously priced Oakley sunglasses with Motorola Bluetooth capability, who out there is so damn needy for attention that they have to take phone calls – VoIP or otherwise – while they are skiing or snowboarding? Who would dare to be that different, to risk injury?
On the other hand, if I’d seen as much snow as Garrett did in Buffalo, New York the other day
, I might wear one of these hats just to keep me nice and warm and have Bluetooth access to my phone while I stumble around in cold snowbanks. Funny that. I initially reacted strongly against the Motorola Bluetooth sunglasses, just like the hat, but found myself justifying their existences. Maybe Motorola knows something we don’t? That there is a market for these kooky Bluetooth products? Now if they could only harness the heat of my skull to recharge the hat. Thermal wear for sure.
