Aztech V500DS Dual-mode DECT Skype Phone
Here’s another DECT Skype phone to add to the already substantial collection. Something tells me Skype is starting to get some serious traction.
The Aztech V500DS does what you’d expect from a DECT phone. What seems to set this particular DECT phone apart from all the others is that it does not need to be connected to your PC to make Skype calls, just like the Netgear and Linksys WiFi phones. It’s base station / charger connects to your landline, so you can make Skype and PSTN calls. No need to worry about those pesky emergency calls then!
It has a 1.5″ color LCD screen to display your Skype contact list, caller ID and user profile. The V500DS supports SkypeIn / SkypeOut, Skype voicemail, call waiting, polyphonic ringtones and has an integrated speakerphone. Each base station can register up to an additional 4 phones.
The Aztech V500DS will be in stores in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong for January 2007. Price and availability elsewhere TBA.
