Ascalade Skype-certified Wireless VoIP Phones

Ascalade Communications, a wireless phone manufacturer, has announced a partnership with Skype to develop a line of Skype-certified products such as wireless VoIP phones that integrate with Skype’s VoIP service.

The first product developed through the deal, an Ascalade PC-based VoIP cordless phone, has already began to ship and is available in North America and Europe. The phone integrates with Skype so that users can access their contact lists, change their online status, make calls and access voicemail.

The cordless phone features a built-in speakerphone, integrated support for polyphonic ringtones, caller ID and a bright colour screen. Ascalade’s VoIP phone is also designed to not interfere with other home and office devices operating with the 2.4Ghz bandwidth.
