Armenia disconnecting 300 VoIP providers
Telegeography are reporting that ArmenTel will start to disconnect and block illegal VoIP operators starting 25th January.
According to ArmenTel’s general director, Oleg Bliznyuk, there are approximately 300 VoIP providers operating illegally in Armenia. This announcement means popular VoIP providers in Armenia such as Avrora and MediaLink will no longer be able to offer their services from the 25th.
“They steal traffic from us, and we are not going to accept it,” said Mr. Bliznyuk.
Bliznyuk went on to say that ArmenTel gave the privately held VoIP providers the option to resell their VoIP products, but they declined the offer.
Unfortunate news for the people of Armenia and the 300 affected companies.
