ageet announces new Windows Vista Sidebar SIP softphone

In a press statement issued on their website today, ageet announced the first SIP softphone made specifically designed to run within the Windows Vista Sidebar.

Japan-based ageet (who don’t like upper case) have dubbed their new SIP softphone the AGEphone Gadget. The softphone resides in the Sidebar where users can place calls, receive calls and view caller information without the need to open any other windows or applications.

I’m fairly sure that this may be the first softphone in a widget on both Windows and Mac OS X, but I don’t think they’ll be the last.
