Adobe Acrobat Connect: VoIP, Video Conferencing & IM Built-in

A few days ago I talked about PresenterNet, a service hosted entirely online where you can view and discuss presentations and other media. Now Adobe are on the verge of releasing an upgraded version of Acrobat called Acrobat Connect, complete with VoIP, video conferencing and IM.

What’s cool about this? Well this is an example of an app where internet telephony, video conferencing and chat have been tighly integrated into a cost-saving machine! You can present a remote video conference talking to attendees using VoIP, drop messages to other attendees and use the built-in whiteboard to comment and suggest changes.

This is certainly the way forward, it’s perfect for SMEs! VoIP has been crying out to be used like this. Software developers, hear my call and integrate VoIP tighly. A button to launch Skype just isn’t enough, stick everything together in one clean, organized window please!
