7 Questionable Voice / VoIP Applications & Gadgets
Hot or not? What do you think of the following voice/ VoIP-related applications?
- VoIP mouse phone combos. Hygiene, hygiene, hygiene. Do you speak to your momma with that mouse?
- Mobile TV. Full-length video on a tiny cell phone screen? Oh joy. My eyes ache just thinking about it.
- Home monitoring with Skype. Is that damn dog into the vodka again?
- Jangl. Ricky don’t call that number. I like the idea very much: an anonymous phone number for two people who’ve just met and don’t want to give out a real number. But will anyone else like Jangl? Could it work for business?
- Mobile vlogging. No, this isn’t where your neighbours flog you with your mobile phone. Mobile vlogging, aka citizen journalism, lets you take pics and video on your phone and upload them directly to your own blog with the push of a button. Now, it works on sites like YouTube, but will it work when all 990 million Internet users are doing it?
- Mobile ads. Would you watch text ads or banners on your mobile phone if it meant either or both of free phones or free calling?
- Keyboards with phones. Could work, as long as you don’t think you’re Batman. Prepare the VoIPmobile, Alfred.
